Brake
motors
Lafert’s brake motors (3 and single phase) are engineered to give
safety, versatility and long service life. The motor’s mechanical
design is specific for brake motors in order to avoid any risk of failure.
The three brake options available can fit any application and are available
both with AC or DC brake coil.
The AMF and AMBY ranges have a very strong design and may meet any
heavy duty application. The AMBY range is also available with low noise
brake, specific for theatres.
The compact AMS range is the ideal solution for woodworking equipment
manufacturers, packaging machines manufacturers, as well as small crane
manufacturers.
As well as meeting industry specific safety requirements, the motors
are also failsafe machines: a combination that ensures maximum machine
safety.
AMF: brake motor with very high-torque AC brake
Available in frame sizes 63 to 160 and power ratings 0.12 to 22 kW in
single and two speed versions based around the tried and tested AC brake
coil designs for all very high braking torque requirements. If you need
to stop the equipment quickly and safely whether it is in a lifting,
transmission or any other heavy duty application, the AMF has proven
abilities.
AMBY: brake motor with high-torque DC brake
Available in frame sizes 63 to 160 and power ratings 0.12 to 22 kW in
single and two speed versions. These are ideal where progressivity,
noiseless and smooth intervention together with high braking torque
is required (transfer, packaging machinery, gear motors). Many options
are available.
AMS: brake motor with low-torque DC brake with reduced overall
dimensions
Available in frame sizes 63 to 160 and power ratings 0.12 to 22 kW in
single and two speed versions, three- and single-phase. They have been
designed around a DC brake coil that gives very soft and gradual braking.
These are ideal where controlled but not necessarily precision braking
is required and wherever you need a brake motor with very reduced overall
dimensions. AMS can be particularly useful and even necessary on every
machine requiring long braking periods and high braking duties (woodworking/cutting
machinery).
