LAFERT OBTAINS CHINA ENERGY LABEL – GRADE 2

“The growing need for high efficiency motors in China and the consequent demands from our partners has led us to certify the range of Premium Efficiency IE3 motors for the Chinese market – declares the AC Motors Sales Manager, Paolo Checchin – and the China Energy Label certification is a further guarantee of our motors’ safety and quality, as well as the reliability and continuity of the service we provide to our customers every day wherever they are”.

The China Energy Label officially certifies compliance with the minimum admissible energy efficiency values. Small and medium-sized asynchronous motors, 2, 4 and 6 poles, with a power range from 0.75kW to 375kW, up to 1000V - 50Hz, must meet the requisites specified by GB standard 18613-2012, that specifies three different levels of energy efficiency - Grades 1-3 - where Grade 1 represents the best-in-class performance (IE4).

Efficiency is measured according to standard GB/T1032, which is identical to IEC 60034-2-1, and the efficiency values are in line with the classes in IEC 60034-30.

Currently the minimum energy efficiency class in China is Grade 3 (equivalent to IE2). Looking ahead, local Authorities have made an important step towards harmonisation of national standards with IEC standards and are planning to increase the energy efficiency of motors in the following mandatory stages:

- as of 1st September 2016: 7.5 kW - 375 kW Grade 2 (IE3)

- as of 1st September 2017: 0.75 kW - 375 kW Grade 2 (IE3)

“The performance of our Premium Efficiency IE3 motors (series AMPE and AMPH) has been certified to Grade 2 more than one year in advance to the mandatory stage” – continues Checchin - “Lafert will therefore apply a Energy Label to all certified motors, containing manufacturer's name, motor’s type, level of energy efficiency of the motor according to Grade 2”.
