TÜV has certified that the Lafert range of brushless servo motors is suitable for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU. The ATEX-certified servo motors are designed for applications where flammable gases or combustible dusts may be present occasionally, ensuring safe and reliable operation under defined conditions.

The ATEX certification complies with international standards EN 60079-0, EN 60079-15, and EN 60079-31, and covers Category 3G (gas) and Category 3D (dust) applications for Zone 2 and Zone 22, with IP65 protection. The motors are certified with protection concepts Ex ec for gas atmospheres and Ex tc for dust atmospheres, with controlled surface temperatures suitable for hazardous-area operation.

ATEX servo motors are available with torque ratings from 0.25 Nm to 300 Nm. They retain the same mechanical dimensions and mounting interfaces as the standard Lafert brushless servo motor range, allowing seamless integration into existing machine designs. Performance parameters are adapted to meet ATEX thermal and safety requirements, ensuring compliance while preserving precise and stable servo control.
